The STG is part of a complete 7.5MW GE Steam Turbine Generator Plant including all the equipment except for the heat source which was solar thermal and that equipment has been removed. The STG is a 1948 GE turbine-generator originally purchased and operated by a Public Services Company and then sold a chip burning cogeneration facility, which shut down in 1994. The STG became a part of a solar thermal generating facility starting in 2009, where it was very minimally in use and not at all for the past several years. Almost all equipment is available for sale except the switchgear and transformers. Also available such things as mirrors and piping from the mirror field, extra in-create mirrors, power towers, and communication towers.
