This power plant consist of 3 Each 1200kW Cooper-Bessemer LS-8 8 cylinder turbocharged engines, running on a combination of Natural Gas and #2 Diesel and 3 Each Prime 1200kW Electric Machinery Co. Generators with Exciters. 4160v, 60Hz.
This equipment was part of a backup power plant. It was a cogeneration plant for many years, but regulations resulting in a decision to sell.
Spares: several heads, camshaft, (2) turbochargers, other misc. parts and some tools. Radiators, stacks, Heat Recovery Units for exhaust.
2 of the 3 currently in operating condition. One has a broken crankshaft, but a replacement crankshaft is included. The generator's front plate on this one is also cracked, but can be stitched and
The 2 operational units are test run every week and are in good condition, but oil leaks on everything. All the units have been refurbished and operates as it should, with the exception of the one with a broken crank. A "new" crank in a crate is included with the sale. There is a spare cam, heads and several other parts. There are 3 "Heat Recovery Units" that are fire-tube boilers to make steam from the exhaust. The broken engine can be repaired with the new crank when it is moved to a new location.
The generator's front plate on this one is also cracked, but can be stitched and repaired.
These coopers are capable of running on diesel and natural gas (10% diesel injection). With a spark plug conversion, they will run on 100% natural gas. This needs to be verified by the buyer. The buyer is responsible for dismantling.
